The Beloved Schoggi
A tour of the Lindt & Sprüngli chocolate factory
The Lindor
The popular Lindor balls continue to be one of Lindt & Sprüngli’s
most popular product lines, particularly outside of Switzerland.
Initially developed as the Lindor bar in 1949, the truffle balls—
with their thin spherical shells of hard chocolate filled with
creamy centers—were introduced in 1967. By the 1980s, the
Lindor line was expanded to include more localized flavors, such
as mint, peanuts, and amaretto for the United States. Demand for
the truffle balls has grown to such an extent that Lindt & Sprüngli
factories in Italy, France, Germany, and the United States all now
manufacture their own versions of the line. >>>
