Les macarons au chocolat de Ladurée

The Ladurée’s chocolate macaroon, originally the creation of
Pierre Desfontaines, Ernest’s second cousin and heir, is said to
have been inspired by one of Pierre’s visits to Switzerland.
Although the most famous, the chocolate macaroon is today just
one of a multitude of delicious flavors concocted daily by
Ladurée's head chef Philippe Andrieu. Depending on the season,
you are likely to find a whole variety of macaroons available,
ranging from vanilla, coffee, and caramel to lemon and rose.
On your next trip to Paris, drop in for tea at 16 rue Royal
e, or
at any of the other new beautiful Ladurée locations, and savor a
plate of
macarons individuels. Just don’t forget to buy yourself
some
mini gerbet macaroons on the way out; they’re perfect
companions for a stroll down the Champs Elysées.
